At New Beginnings Thoroughbreds (NBT), we recognize that not every horse will go on to a riding career, but every horse still deserves safety, purpose, and love. The NBT Pasture Partner Program offers permanent placement for thoroughbreds who are no longer rideable but thrive as cherished companions (human and/or horse) in the right home.

We currently have 1 horse that is eligible for the Pasute Partner Program as of the Fall of 2025.
Who is a Pasture Partner?
- These horses are non-riding only as they're not suited for work under saddle due to soundness or other limitations. However, they offer endless companionship and enrichment in various ways, such as pasture buddies, herd anchors, or solo barn friends for both people and horses.
- Each horse in the program has completed rehabilitation with us and will have any light maintenance needs (if any) clearly noted and communicated in their listing.
Program Highlights:
- 🏡 Permanent, Non-Riding Placement: All companion horses are placed into non-riding homes only. Adopters must agree to a no-riding policy, regardless of future changes in the horse's condition.
- 💬 Lifelong Network: Just like our standard adoptions, companion adopters are part of the NBT family for life. We personally check in with adopters to stay informed about how your horse is doing. This ensures we stay connected and informed about their ongoing care and well-being.
- 🧾 Ownership Transfer with Protections: While legal ownership is transferred upon adoption, horses may never be rehomed, sold, transferred, or given away. If an adopter can no longer keep the horse, it must be returned to NBT.
- 🩺 Communication of Needs: Most horses available will not require daily maintenance. Some horses may require some maintenance, such as supplements or specific turnout needs. Each horse's listing will include these details, allowing us to ensure the best possible match.
- 🤎 Personalized Placement: Some horses are best suited as herd companions, while others prefer quiet, one-on-one relationships with humans. Based on your setup and the horse's personality, we'll guide you to the proper fit.
